URIEL for University Students Across Kenya

Everyone at home thinks you’ve got it all figured out.

Maybe you do, most days. For the other days, there’s URIEL™: somewhere on your phone to say what’s really going on, get your head straight, and work out your next move. Any hour.

The part nobody sees

You tell everyone you’re fine. You laugh with your friends, you show up for the exam, you call home and say things are going well.

Then it’s late, your room is quiet, and your mind won’t stop. The fees. The results. The person who still hasn’t texted back. The job you’re supposed to land after all of this.

That doesn’t mean you’re failing. It means you’re human, and you’re carrying more than people know.

When your feelings are louder than your thinking

A disappointing grade from a difficult instructor. Panic the night before a paper. That heavy feeling that arrives on a Sunday evening. Everyone has moments when feelings take the wheel.

URIEL gives you somewhere to let it out first, in your own words, at any hour. Then it helps you slow down enough to see what’s really going on, and what you want to do about it.

No more bottling it up. Let it out. Get clarity. Strengthen your judgment.

The people who matter most

Your parents saved and sacrificed so you could be here, and you feel every shilling of it. A friendship that has gone cold and you don’t know why. A roommate you can’t talk to. Someone you care about who keeps sending mixed signals.

The people closest to us can lift us up and wear us down, sometimes on the same day. URIEL helps you work out what you’re really feeling, see their side, and find the right words, before you send the message you can’t take back.

Getting your focus back

You sit down to study. Twenty minutes later you’re scrolling, thinking about rent, replaying an argument. It’s hard to focus when your mind is full.

Talk it out with URIEL first. Get it out of your head and into words. Then turn “everything is due” into the one thing you’ll do tonight and the two you’ll do tomorrow. It works alongside your lecturers, your friends and the support on your campus.

I built URIEL because I have spent my working life alongside people under pressure, and I have learned that the strongest people are often the ones carrying the most, quietly.

When I talk with university staff and students in Kenya, I keep hearing the same three things: keeping your emotions steady, the people in your life, and staying focused on why you came.

You don’t need to have it all figured out. You need a clear head and one good next step. That is what URIEL is for.

Dr. D. Ivan YoungFounder, Young Ethical Intelligence

Built for you. Based on you. Not the general public.

You already know the big AI chat apps from the tech giants, the ones half your class uses to finish assignments at midnight. They’re good at answering questions. But ask one of them about your life and you get the answer anyone would get. It doesn’t know you. It doesn’t know what you’re working towards, what you’re afraid of, or what matters to you.

URIEL starts with you. Before your first conversation, you answer questions about your personality, your values, your goals and what weighs on you. URIEL builds your profile from those answers and keeps learning each time you come back. So when you bring it a decision, it works from your strengths, your hopes and your fears, not a script written for everyone.

Your profile isn’t a quiz. Its questions are drawn from validated psychometric assessments, the kind professional coaches use with leaders around the world. They were designed by Dr. D. Ivan Young, who holds the International Coaching Federation’s highest credential, Master Certified Coach, and the EMCC’s Master Practitioner accreditation, and who is certified in every assessment the questionnaire draws on. So the guidance you get is shaped around you, not generic advice.

What URIEL does

Lets you talk it out

Vent without being told what to do. Some days that’s enough.

Helps you sort it

Separate what’s urgent from what’s just loud.

Gives you honest feedback

URIEL doesn’t just agree with you. It shows you your strengths and where you tend to get stuck.

Helps you decide your next step

Which unit to revise first. How to talk to family. Whether a course fits where you want to go.

AI delivers answers. URIEL strengthens the judgment of the person responsible for those answers.

What URIEL is, and isn’t

URIEL is Human Judgment Intelligence: a conversational platform built to strengthen emotional regulation, judgment and resilience. It is not counselling or therapy. It doesn’t diagnose or treat any condition, and it doesn’t replace a counsellor, a doctor or your campus support services. It’s one more tool, alongside your friends, your family, your faith and the support on your campus.

You sign in with your own account. Whether you tell anyone you use it is up to you.

How it works

Questions

Is URIEL counselling or therapy?

No. URIEL is a place to think things through and decide your next step. It doesn’t diagnose or treat anything, and it doesn’t replace a counsellor, a doctor or your campus support. Many students use both.

What do I pay, and when?

Nothing for 7 days. After that it’s KSh 650 a month until you cancel. If you cancel before your free week ends, you aren’t charged.

How do I cancel?

Open the “Manage billing” link in your welcome email, or go to billing.stripe.com and sign in with the email you used at checkout. Cancel before your 7 free days end and you won’t be charged.

Can I pay with M-Pesa?

Not with ordinary M-Pesa yet. You can pay with a bank card or an M-PESA GlobalPay virtual card.

Will it use a lot of data?

URIEL runs in your phone’s browser and uses mobile data or Wi-Fi like any web page. How much it uses depends on how long you spend. There’s nothing to download, and you don’t need a laptop.

I’m in first year. Is this for me?

Yes. First year brings a lot at once: a new place, new people, a new way of studying, maybe your first time managing your own money. URIEL is there from week one, and in every year after.

Who can see what I write?

Your conversations are tied to your own account, and you decide whether to tell anyone you use URIEL. Our privacy policy explains how your information is handled.

How is this different from the AI chat apps everyone already uses?

Those apps are built to answer anyone’s question, the same way for everyone. URIEL starts from your profile, your personality, values and goals, and helps you think a decision through, with honest feedback rather than easy agreement.
